The Unique Identification Number (UIN) is proof that the producer is registered with the eco-organisation and up to date with its eco-fees, as required by law (Environment Code, Articles L541-10 à L541-10-17). The purpose of the UIN is to facilitate follow-up and compliance to EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) requirements which are under the responsibility of producers.
The UIN is valid 1 year and is renewed every year. It must be included in your Terms & Conditions of Sale and all contractual documents.
This obligation entered into force on 1 January 2022 (French Anti-waste and Circular Economy Law n° 2020-105 of 10 February 2020).
