Refashion's goal is to ensure that the tests carried out are representative of the products placed into the market. It is also the responsibility of the marketer to carry out any additional tests necessary to guarantee the consistency of product quality between factories.
Ideally, therefore, the product from the factory that produces the majority of the products should be sampled. When this information is not available at the time of sampling (e.g., picking by an independent third party in a store, random picking in a warehouse, etc.), an exception to the above rule is permitted. The marketer must then be able to demonstrate retrospectively, at the time of the eco-modulation audit, that it was operationally impossible to implement the initial rule.
