Range width refers to the maximum number of references of new products, including remanufactured products, offered by a brand in the market segment of the product reference concerned.
The number of references to be entered must be the maximum number of references marketed on the same day over the entire calendar year. Therefore, in the event of an inspection on a given date, the number of marketed references observed must always be lower than the value entered to calculate the G index. The brand is not expected to declare the exact number of references, which is only known at the end of the year. Brands provide a number while undertaking not to market more references simultaneously. If a brand is not able to accurately anticipate the number of references it might market over the year, it must therefore consider a margin that it is responsible for choosing.
