There are currently three recycling pathways for textiles, and they encompass different technologies. The choice of pathway depends on the characteristics of the product to be recycled (composition, colour, etc.) and on the product developed at the end of the recycling process.

Shoes are complex products, and initial recovery solutions are beginning to emerge.

It is necessary to continue R&D to remove barriers to recycling and to industrialise the recycling solutions that are already effective, in order to improve the recycling of textiles and shoes.
