A garnett operator recycles textiles. Garnetting is performed on industrial lines and consists in passing non-reusable textiles (production off-cuts, used clothing) on spiked cylinders rotating at high speed which gradually remove the fibres. Garnetting is a mechanical process which does not separate the different types of fibres in the textile nor the colours. The applications for fibres obtained are mainly non-woven.
