The UIN serves as proof that the producer is properly registered in the Refashion registry and up to date with their eco-contributions, as required by the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme. It facilitates the monitoring and control of compliance with the obligations producers must meet.
This requirement came into effect on January 1, 2022, under Law No. 2020-105 of February 10, 2020, aimed at combating waste and promoting a circular economy.
The UIN is issued following the completion of the regularization process. It is generated by ADEME and provided by Refashion to the producer through the extranet (under the "Your company" tab).
You can check whether your company has a valid and up-to-date IDU by visiting the SYDEREP website.
To obtain you UIN, no action is required on your part, if you are already a member: Refashion handles the registration in SYDEREP on your behalf, since 2022. Once generated by ADEME, your unique ID is available in your Extranet space, within your company profile.
If you are not yet a member, your UIN will only be issued after your registration is complete (including sign-up, declaration, and payment). Visit our website to start the regularization process.

Loss of the UIN: when can it happen?
The UIN is automatically renewed each year, provided the producer remains compliant with all regulatory obligations, particularly regarding contributions.
The eco-organisation will ask the ADEME to cancel the Unique Identification Number thereby disabling the latter. Any producer who does not comply with regulatory obligations, declaration and eco-fees rules shall be subject to the penalties provided for in article L.541-9-5.
